Cultivating Kindness: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Supporting Staff

As we head into National Skilled Nursing Care Week (May 14- 20, 2023) and then National Nursing Assistants Week (June 14-20, 2023) we wanted to spark some ideas about how you might cultivate kindness using trauma-informed approaches. Join us for a webinar that offers some ideas to support nursing home staff in the short and longer term.
Speakers:
Leigh-Anne Royster, P.h.D.
Leigh-Anne Royster is an educator, facilitator, and administrator focused on inclusion and equity development through policy, education and intervention.
Dr. Royster is currently the Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Duke University. She joined Duke from Elon University where she served in multiple roles including the Director of the Center for Equity and Inclusive Excellence and the Director of Health Services. Dr. Royster holds a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill, an MPA from the University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. from UNC Greensboro.
Jennifer Craft Morgan, P.h.D.
Dr. Jennifer Craft Morgan is the Director of the Gerontology Institute at Georgia State University. Her research focuses on jobs and careers, attempting to understand how policy, population, workplace, and individual-level factors shape how work is experienced and how work is organized across care settings. Dr. Morgan is a national expert on recruitment, training, and retention of direct care workers.
